Jinder Mahal Signs New WWE Contract
The 'Modern Day Maharaja' has apparently put pen to paper on a new five-year deal.
Jinder Mahal has signed a new WWE contract, allegedly committing his future to the company for the next five years, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet.
Mahal joins a long list of talent who recently signed multi-year WWE contracts, including Mojo Rawley and Mike & Maria Kanellis. The company are no doubt keen to tie down talent, with daily reports claiming members of the roster want to leave, alongside constant rumours of AEW looking to hire.
What WWE have planned for the former WWE Champion is unclear, with Mahal most recently involved in the battle for the 24/7 Championship with R-Truth. Mahal briefly held the title on two separate occasions: pinning Truth on a golf course before immediately being rolled up to lose his newly-won prize, and surprising Truth on the tarmac of Frankfurt Airport but then dropping the championship back to him as a result of being pinned whilst sleeping on the plane to Saudi Arabia.
Mahal returned to WWE in 2016 after a two-year absence and would go on to become the first WWE Champion of Indian descent after beating Randy Orton at Backlash 2017, holding the title for 170 days before losing it to AJ Styles.
