John Cena Set For WWE Return On Last SmackDown Of 2022

John Cena is set for a huge WWE return on December 30.

As first reported by Variety and later confirmed on last night's SmackDown, The Face that Runs the Place will make his presence known on the final blue show of the year.

This isn't said to be the last announcement heading into the show that will go down within Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL, however, according to "an individual with knowledge of the situation."

The multiple-time WWE Champion last appeared on WWE programming back in June, showing up on Raw to celebrate his 20th Anniversary with the company. But he wouldn't actually wrestle or physically collide with anyone on that night, with his last physical in-ring performance coming back in September 2021 in a dark match when he wrestled alongside The Mysterios against The Bloodline.

With rumours already doing the rounds in regards to Cena potentially rocking up to WrestleMania 39 and wrestling on the Grandest Stage of Them All, perhaps the icon will kickstart a programme upon returning home to all things blue at the end of this month.

All that's confirmed at this stage, though, is that the champ will most definitely be here before 2022 reaches its end.
