6. The Boos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-I19hB66UhY John Cena is pushed as the biggest WWE babyface of the era, yet he gets booed like the biggest heel ever. When this first started happening in 2005 and 2006 it was genuinely embarrassing for Cena and the WWE. They just ignored it and hoped it would go away. Part of the problem was that Cena was working against much greater talents such as Kurt Angle and we all wanted to see real athletes go over. The stigma has stuck to Cena and despite improving his work he has never been able to shake the boos. Eventually WWE just started going with it and wrote the booing into Cena's character as "the most divisive WWE superstar ever". Although he is now used to (and expects) the booing, it must still be a source of humiliation for John. Listen to the boos in the video above, particularly at the 1 minute mark. That was the night after Mania 28 when Cena had just lost. Yes, it was his opponent The Rock's hometown, but as the honourable face we should have had some respect and sympathy for Cena. On so many occasions he has had to deal with the fact that he's just genuinely hated.
