John Cena's Next Match Teased On This Week's WWE SmackDown

WWE set the stage for another bumper John Cena tag team match on Friday.

John Cena fired out an open challenge on Friday's episode of SmackDown, but the one-time WWE poster boy didn't get to see it through - Solo Sikoa answered the call, then Jimmy Uso ran out to start a two-on-one beatdown.

That's when Jey Uso, fresh off losing the Undisputed Tag Team Titles alongside now-ex partner Cody Rhodes, appeared to help Cena even the odds. It now looks like WWE creative will motor towards another bumper tag battle for JC: Cena and Jey vs. Jimmy and Solo.

Could that be Triple H's plan for Crown Jewel on 4 November? That's pure guesswork, but it would keep The Bloodline story ticking over nicely and give Cena another marquee midcard match before he inevitably dashes back to Hollywood.

Cena greatly helped LA Knight's cause recently, and he could get Sikoa to that next level if WWE higher-ups are willing to make it happen. The teased Cena vs. Solo singles scrap would be fun if John has the time too. His main goal during this WWE comeback has been to aid others, after all.

Watch this space, and don't be shocked if the match is announced soon.
