At last night's Dynamite, AEW resolved their side of the convoluted booking scramble that resulted from CM Punk's leg injury.

After Tony Khan refused to properly vacate the belt, a battle royal was booked to determine #1 contender Jon Moxley's opponent in the main event. The Casino match was won by Kyle O'Reilly - who also won a tag team equivalent in February, cannily framing him as a genre specialist - who was defeated by Moxley in a killer headliner. Working once more in Wrestler of the Year form, Mox struggled through O'Reilly's tricky, layered submission game before beating his face in. The match was a blinding, physical affair that captured the energy of a combat sports thriller.

Mox's opponent for the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door main event will be determined at NJPW Dominion this Sunday, June 12, at Dominion. There, company legend and G.O.A.T-tier performer Hiroshi Tanahashi will face vastly underrated and hugely experienced utility player Hirooki Goto for the honour of headlining the massive show at the United Center in Chicago on June 26.

Tanahashi is expected to win - a singles match with Mox has been teased for what feels like forever at this point.
