A WWE talent with a huge, storied history with TNA, Jordynne Grace's role has now been revealed for this coming Tuesday's big NXT x TNA Showdown special.

Taking X over the weekend, NXT General Manager Ava has announced that Grace will be the special referee in the eight-woman Survivor Series-style tag match at Showdown.

Last week's NXT broadcast saw Jordynne appeal to Kelani Jordan and Mike Santana for a spot on the TNA team for this match, but Kelani and Santana noted how Grace and Joe Hendry can't be fully trusted due to having ties to both TNA and WWE. Of course, the Juggernaut - who spent seven years with TNA and is a three-time Knockouts Champion - has been with WWE since earlier this year, whilst there is the belief that Hendry will likewise head to WWE once his existing TNA deal is up.

For that women's Survivor Series-style match, it's NXT Women's Champion Jacy Jayne, NXT Women's North American Champion and WWE Women's Champion Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker, and Lola Vice representing NXT, whilst TNA will be repped by TNA Knockouts Champion Kelani Jordan, TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions the IInspiration, and Mara Sadè.

It remains to be seen whether Joe Hendry is utilised in a similar role for the men's eight-man bout, but it wouldn't be a total surprise to see the hugely charismatic Scot having something to do on Tuesday night.

As well as those Survivor Series-style matches, Showdown also has Mustafa Ali challenging Ethan Page for the NXT North American Title, and TNA Tag Team Champions the Hardys face off against NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState in a winner-takes-all bout.
