If there was a ever a moment, post-unmasking, to give Kane a run as World Heavyweight Champion, it was Armageddon 2003 - where he fought in a triple threat match alongside Triple H and Goldberg.

With the latter imminently set to depart the company, Raw needed a new champion, and Kane - who had buried his brother alive at the last pay-per-view - was slap bang in the middle of one of the best runs of his career.

But, perhaps because they were too close to WrestleMania season to go messing with a proven formula, they instead chose to put the belt back on Triple H, who pinned Goldberg as Batista prevented Kane from getting back in the ring by hugging him on the outside.

A big missed opportunity - and it was all downhill from there.
