In order to antagonize then-number one contender for the WWE Championship prior to No Mercy 2002, Triple H took to the most unusual of methods to gain a "cerebral assassin" advantage, claiming that Kane's unrequited teenage love for fellow high schooler Katie Vick resulted in young Kane having sex with VIck only after she had perished in a car accident. Of course, when evil heel Triple H aired footage of said event, it was of Triple H mockingly dressed as Kane simulating sex with a "Katie Vick" mannequin in a casket. Two key storyline points about this event: at no point was heel Triple H's terrifyingly disturbing claim ever actually refuted Triple H retained the WWE Championship at No Mercy 2002
