Kenny Omega Brings ROH's Biggest Ever Ticket Surge?
The Cleaner set to appear at Global Wars on October 15th.
Ticket sales for Ring of Honor's upcoming "Global Wars" have soared after it was announced Kenny Omega would be on the card (via SE Scoops).
"The Cleaner" - who recently won yet more fans after two match of the year (or, perhaps more accurately, century) candidates with Kazuchika Okada in NJPW - is currently the only man announced for the event, which takes place on October 15th at Chicago's Odeum Expo Center.
The venue holds up to 5,000 fans, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that quota is fast being filled ahead of what could be one of precious few ROH dates for Omega over the next couple of years.
The Canadian last appeared for the promotion in 2016, but has spent most of his time since in Japan, and continues to be linked with a switch to WWE after reportedly impressing its hierarchy earlier this year.
And these numbers - said to be the highest first-day ticket sales in ROH history - are yet more evidence of his drawing power, which is unrivaled by any other wrestler currently working the American independent scene.
Alongside Okada, Sasha Banks and Samoa Joe, Omega is also one of four cover options for issue six of What Culture's Wrestling magazine.
