Kurt Angle Reportedly Staying With TNA Another Year

TNA will allow Angle to pursue acting career.

Kurt Angle is expected to stay with TNA for another year, reports PWInsider. The company is set to offer him a part time deal that will appeal to his desire to expand his acting career. This comes after news that WWE only wanted Angle on a full time deal. PWInsider reported that Triple H made the decision to only offer the full time basis. However, Dave Meltzer at the Wrestling Observer hasn't been able to confirm this. It could be a case that WWE made the offer simply because they knew Angle wouldn't be able to work the deal. TNA are obviously keen to keep their prized asset and the part time deal will suit both parties. Angle is currently headed to Los Angeles for meetings and auditions. It is in some ways a shame that we won't get to see him in WWE. He's one of the greatest wrestlers of our generation and can still put on a hell of a performance. However, there's no guarantee he would have even passed WWE's stringent health checks. Angle's body is fairly broken down and even on a part time deal he would've struggled. The full time option was a definite no-go from his point of view. A scenario where he returns for one WWE match is still possible for further down the line. WWE perhaps don't want to do that next year as they already have returns from Sting and maybe even The Rock at WrestleMania 31.
