Kurt Angle To WWE: 7 Great Potential Matches For His Return

2. Brock Lesnar

The active WWE superstar that would be considered Angle's greatest rival is Brock Lesnar. Past rivals like Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit have passed away while Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin have retired. Lesnar, the man that is the 1 in 21-1, is the guy that has the most history with Angle among active wrestlers. In 2003, they headlined four PPVs together (including that awesome WrestleMania 19 event) and also had a 60 minute Ironman Match on Smackdown. Their first match was a dream match. The others lived up to the hype. One of the problems with doing this match is that Lesnar only wrestles about four times in a year. That's not going to change. He doesn't have to wrestle more than that. It would be nice if he did because he's such an outstanding performer, but it doesn't seem like a possibility at this point in his career. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2FDP2CBDok Since Lesnar is a heel and Angle would likely be brought in as a legendary babyface, the story would be easy to tell. Lesnar could be in the ring bragging about how great he is (or have Paul Heyman do it for him, like usual) as Angle's music starts up and the crowd marks out at the sight of a favorite son returning home. It would be okay if Angle lost the match too. Most likely, Lesnar is going to be booked to win his matches over the next year and as mentioned, Angle doesn't need wins. It's about having memorable match, which these two have shown they're able to do together. If Angle returns to WWE and if Lesnar isn't booked against others, seeing in the same ring at the same time one more time would be tremendous.
