Following reports over the weekend that 'Hangman' Adam Page will be returning to AEW "sooner rather than later", there's now somewhat of an update on this situation.

Given how this week's AEW Dynamite takes place from Fairfax, Virginia's EagleBank Arena, and with Hangman being a native of Halifax, Virginia, many have speculated that the former AEW World Champion could make an appearance on Wednesday. For those hopeful of seeing Page this week, it seems best to simmer any such hope.

As per Fightful Select - the source of the original report that Adam Page is gearing up for a return - it's expected, as of this past weekend, that Page won't be at this upcoming Dynamite. On his latest SRS Backstage Report, Fighftul's Sean Ross Sapp reiterated that Hangman will be returning soon, suggesting the end of June or beginning of July for that return, and that the 32-year-old is likely to continue as a heel or at least have some shades of grey elements to his character.

Having been on a pre-agreed absence since AEW Revolution back in March due to personal reasons, Page was previously involved in a heated feud with Swerve Strickland and was also trying to dethrone then-AEW World Champion Samoa Joe. In the time since Hangman has been away, Swerve defeated Joe for the AEW World Title, while the Elite officially suspended Page from their faction.
