Did The Man just casually announce her retirement?

While she's not currently an active in-ring competitor, Becky Lynch has still managed to get the wrestling world talking - this time, about The Man's potential retirement.

In the aftermath of her A&E Biography episode airing on Sunday, Lynch took to Instagram to post:

It’s been a helluva career

Being the Man for all of you was an honor, being the mom for her is a privilege. Thanks for watching my bio on @AETV.

Some have taken this as Becky announcing her retirement from the squared circle, and Fightful Select has an update on all of this.

The outlet notes that if Lynch has indeed called time on her career, those within WWE have yet to be informed. Of course, the 37-year-old is nowadays a free agent and not under contract with WWE, so there would be no obligation to inform the market leader of her retirement. However, sources told Fightful that it's unlikely such an announcement would be made via Instagram.

WWE sources also told Fightful that Becky is enjoying her time away from the ring and that the company wanted to respect her space after what she's done for them over the years. As one would expect, Lynch would always be welcomed back to WWE if and when she chooses to lace up her boots again. Much like what was reported earlier in the year, the initial plan was simply for Becky to take some time off under the belief that she'd return to WWE when the time was right.
