Latest On Sheamus To AEW Rumours (AEW News)

A number of workers already on AEW's books want Tony Khan to sign ex-WWE man Sheamus.

"A handful of AEW talent are in favour of Sheamus joining the company".

That's the latest word on the former WWE stalwart signing on the dotted line with Tony Khan and becoming the next man to make that WWE > AEW leap. Fightful Select dished details on the general view behind the curtain at Dynamite and Collision, and it appears to be a largely positive one when talk of Sheamus becoming #AllElite stirs up.

1 October was roundly reported as the date when Sheamus could ink a deal elsewhere following his WWE departure in July. A 90-day grace period has now lapsed, which means the Irishman is free to work elsewhere and has officially entered free agency. So, it'll be interesting to see where he goes next. AEW is definitely on the table.

Sources within All Elite told Fightful that there's sure to be interest at board room level. However, some actively working matches on the roster week to week also think it'd be a cracking idea to court Sheamus and find out if he'd be up for joining the promotion ASAP.

The rest of this write up wasn't included in Fightful Select's own report, but Sheamus ended his 20 year association with WWE in July after letting his contract tick down. He didn't sign an extension, obviously, and now he's up for trying something a little different whilst remaining active as a pro wrestler with some serious credibility behind him.

This wouldn't be some newbie trading WWE scraps for a shot at Khan's company. Sheamus is a multi-time World Champion, Royal Rumble winner and King Of The Ring. He'd bring some eyeballs with him, because even hardcore WWE fans would want to find out what he looked like outside the TKO bubble.
