Brock Lesnar is heading back to WWE - and could be in line for a big-time title fight at WrestleMania 40.

Following up on his prior reporting, Dave Meltzer re-stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that 'The Beast Incarnate' was due back in WWE "at any time." Next week was mentioned by Meltzer, who added that the promotion held off on pulling the trigger this week, as Monday's Raw faced heavy competition from NFL Monday Night Football and the Emmy Awards.

Royal Rumble 2024 takes place next Saturday, 27 January. It's conceivable that WWE could use the 30-man battle royal for Brock's comeback, though this isn't confirmed.

Meltzer noted, too, that Meltzer's WWE return could happen after the Rumble. He and cohost Bryan Alvarez speculated on the prospect of Brock challenging Intercontinental Champion Gunther at WrestleMania, as Gunther's reign races towards the 600-day mark.

Lesnar hasn't been seen on WWE television since putting Cody Rhodes over at SummerSlam 2023 last August, closing their feud. If, for some reason, WWE opts against booking him for WrestleMania, it'd be doing so for only the second time since 2013.
