In somewhat surprising news, WWE’s long-time French language commentary teams of Jean Brassard and Raymond Rougeau have departed the company.

Brassard took to Twitter to announce this news, explaining how the duo are no longer working with WWE “due to restructuring via Peacock” and the WWE Network.

This pair first teamed up on WWE programming back in 1994 and would work together up until 1999. Rougeau – a one-time WWE Tag Team Champion alongside his brother Jacques – would continue to work on and off for the company over the ensuing years, and he and Brassard would be brought back together in 2017.

Since then, Brassard and Rougeau have been providing French commentary for the WWE Network up until this news of their exit.

In Brassard’s post, he was thankful for “all these wonderful years” and promised to “continue to entertain you one way or another”. Away from the wrestling world, Jean Brassard is a relatively successful actor, with him having appeared in the likes of The Blacklist, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and MacGyver.
