At least Warrior walked to the ring this time. After sucking enough wind to power a hurricane in the latter stages of his match against Hulk a year earlier, Warrior learned his lesson regarding blowing up early. Good thing too, because he was due to have the best match of his whole career.

The "retirement match" provided the desired drama, with viewers at home fully aware that a nervous Miss Elizabeth was seated in the recesses of the crowd. The head games were on full display, particularly in an awesome spot where Warrior has Savage up for the gorilla press, only to set him down and smack the taste out of his mouth. It was a different sort of Warrior match, and Savage was just the guy to have it with.

Five flying elbows kicked out of, a Warrior finishing sequence kicked out of, etc, etc. Really, it set the bar for today's "let's kick out of every finisher" main event, so there's that. But more important than the ending was the aftermath, which culminates with the Savage/Liz reunion that would make even a statue weep. Now that was a WrestleMania moment.
