Major Change Made To Top AEW Dynamite Match
Injury pull-outs prompt a significant change for tonight's AEW Dynamite lineup.
With Jeff Hardy and Adam Cole out of this week's episode of AEW Dynamite, Darby Allin and New Japan Pro Wrestling's Hikuleo have stepped up as their replacements.
AEW announced a ten-man tag team match pitting Cole, The Young Bucks, and reDRagon against The Hardys, Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, and Christian Cage for Dynamite during Double Or Nothing 2022 (29 May). It was the only match confirmed for Wednesday coming out of the pay-per-view.
This was quickly changed. By Monday, AEW had pulled Hardy and Cole from the match and started advertising an eight-person tag instead.
Now, AEW founder and president Tony Khan has announced a couple of substitutes. Allin and Hikuleo are in, with the storyline justification being Khan giving Hardy and Cole permission to select their respective replacements.

Jeff and Cole both miss out on Dynamite due to injuries. For Hardy, who was reportedly a "mess" at Double Or Nothing, that meant selecting the man against whom he was hurt on a recent episode of Dynamite. Cole, meanwhile, is tied to Hikuleo through their Bullet Club connections.
This will be Hikuleo's third AEW match since debuting opposite Lance Archer in July 2021.
