Major Favourite Re-Signs With NJPW

This hugely popular multi-time champion opts to re-sign with NJPW.

The hugely popular Hiromu Takahashi has today penned a new contract to remain with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Originally reported by Tokyo Sports' Yusuke Okamoto (via the Wrestling Observer), Takahashi visited the NJPW offices on Monday to sign his new deal, although there are no details at this stage on how long this new contract is for.

Okamoto was waiting for Hiromu as he left the building, but the only comment made by the Ticking Time Bomb was, "I signed a contract".

Having been with NJPW since as far back as 2009, Takahashi is nowadays a former five-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and has won the Best of the Super Juniors an impressive, record-setting four times.

The Los Ingobernables de Japón man lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title to long-time rival El Desperado at Wrestle Kingdom 18 earlier this month. Up next for Takahashi, he's got a match against DOUKI at The New Beginning on 24 February, but even more intriguing, the 34-year-old is set to face Mustafa Ali at NJPW's Windy City Riot show on 12 April; Ali having laid out to the challenge to Hiromu at Battle in the Valley just over two weeks ago.
