Major Free Agent Signs With WWE - Was Backstage At WWE WrestleMania 40
Complete with Bloodline implications, this hugely talented star has signed with WWE.
With Roman Reigns having lost the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania XL Night 2, it appears there could be some changes on the way for the Bloodline. Most notably, changes in the shape of one Jacob Fatu.
One of the hottest free agents in the game, Fatu has reportedly now signed with WWE.
Fightful Select initially reported that the Samoan Werewolf had told people he'd signed with WWE on Wednesday, which is why he was pulled from his scheduled GCW appearance this past Saturday. Fatu was backstage at Night 2 of 'Mania XL, with PWInsider adding that the ridiculously talented former MLW World Champion has "100% signed" with the market leader.
Of course, Jacob Fatu is a part of the legendary Samoan Dynasty, with his father being the Tonga Kid, and the Tonga Kid being the twin brother of Rikishi. As such, that makes Rikishi Jacob's uncle, the Usos and Solo Sikoa are Fatu's immediate cousins, and the athletic powerhouse is also related to, amongst others, Roman Reigns, Yokozuna, Umaga, Rosey, Afa and Sika, and the Rock.
Fatu has long been one of the greatest big men currently in the game, having impressed for the likes of MLW, GCW, NJPW, HOG, and Defy over recent years. The 31-year-old previously had interest from WWE, but nothing ultimately came of that. Well, until now, that is.
Interestingly, Jacob Fatu yesterday posted a photo on X of Bobby Heenan and the Islanders. For those not familiar with the Islanders, that tag team consisted of the Tonga Kid and Haku. Given how Haku's son Tama Tonga is believed to have also signed with WWE, some are speculating that the Tonga Kid and Haku pairing could be revisited through their sons, with Fatu and Tama becoming a tandem as part of the Bloodline.

Either way, in Jacob Fatu, WWE has a phenomenal talent on their hands, and it now remains to be seen whether Fatu - and Tama Tonga, for that matter - makes a mark in the immediate aftermath of WrestleMania XL.
