Major Update On Cody Rhodes' WWE Return Plans
Latest on Cody Rhodes, WrestleMania 39, and more ahead of WWE comeback.
Cody Rhodes has been training with NXT's Carmelo Hayes and Joe Gacy as he prepares for his WWE comeback, reports Fightful Select.
Hayes and Gacy, both of whom are established regulars on Tuesday nights, have been helping 'The American Nightmare' get in ring shape ahead of his big comeback. Rhodes has been at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida in advance of this, with Cody, his tour bus, family members, and his team members all spotted there.
Fightful states that Rhodes handpicked Hayes and Gacy to train with.
Cody has been out of action since June's WrestleMania Backlash 2022 premium live event, where he once again triumphed over Seth Rollins, this time inside Hell In A Cell. An already-infamous match saw Rhodes compete with a heavily-bruised arm, shoulder, and torso, having suffered a torn pectoral muscle prior to the event, necessitating surgery - and a long period on the sidelines.
Rhodes was written off television on the following episode of Raw, which saw Rollins attack him with a sledgehammer. Whether or not WWE will attempt to reprise the rivalry upon Cody's comeback remains to be seen, though Fightful states that Rhodes factors into the company's WrestleMania 39 plans.
