Major Update On MJF's AEW Roster Status
Latest on MJF, who has been absent from AEW since June.
MJF's immediate professional wrestling future remains one of the biggest questions in the business, with the All Elite Wrestling star now entering his second month of inactivity following a much-publicised contract dispute with the promotion and its owner, Tony Khan.
But while MJF's situation has created understandable speculation on a potential jump to WWE, people within AEW expect the 26-year-old to return to Khan's company. This is despite the AEW CEO not necessarily filling anybody in.
The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer tweeted:-
Everything is secretive but everyone in AEW assumes he's coming back at some point but they don't know for sure and Khan hasn't told anyone as far as I know. https://t.co/wW5KjYVX8V

MJF has been absent from AEW programming since Dynamite's 1 June episode, on which he cut a ferocious worked shoot promo on Khan and the company, demanding Tony fire him. This came following a protracted saga surrounding his contract. MJF, who signed for AEW in 2019, was reportedly angling for a higher salary, having become one of the company's most organically over stars, though his relationship with Khan is believed to have declined since AEW's inception.
Double Or Nothing 2022 hosted MJF's most recent AEW match prior to the Khan promo, with the former Pinnacle leader putting Wardlow over in a one-sided pay-per-view squash.
