Recently injured WWE star will miss approx 9 months of action in 2024.

WWE announced during Friday's episode of SmackDown that Charlotte Flair suffered a serious knee injury on last week's show which will keep the 'Queen' benched for most of 2024.

Flair's injury is believed to be a torn ACL. The typical recovery time for that is approx 9 months, which obviously means Charlotte will miss tentpole events like January's Royal Rumble and April's WrestleMania XL. That's a huge blow for her, and presumably for WWE's creative team.

Charlotte appeared to be in plans for a major match at 'Mania, but the writers will have to come up with a contingency plan. That could have a knock on effect for Bayley's eventual departure from the Damage CTRL stable too.

All going well, Flair might be able to make a surprise return in time for SummerSlam next August. That's wishful thinking following such a serious injury though. It's awful to report that someone will miss out on significant paydays during the most lucrative portion of the year too.

Fingers crossed Charlotte can heal up ASAP. It's never nice to see any pro wrestler suffer an injury, serious or otherwise.
