1. She Has History With Thunder Rosa
Despite Thunder Rosa's surprise loss to Nyla Rose in the AEW Eliminator Tournament, it seems inevitable that the former NWA World Women's Champion will be heading to Tony Kahn's company sooner rather than later.
Maki Itoh's arrival may be less certain, but if she does join alongside Thunder Rosa the two can pick up where they left off in Japan.
The above video shows Maki and Rosa setting up their clash for Japanese promotion TJPW's International Princess Championship. Although Itoh would go on to lose the feud and the belt, the above clip is a testament to her ability to connect with an audience.
As well as making the audience laugh whether she's speaking Japanese or English, she has them yelling her name when she says her catchphrase at the end of her promo. Not every wrestler can manipulate the crowd like that, and AEW's fanbase would be highly receptive to her act.
Itoh has made clear her desire to return to the AEW ring, and hopefully the Fired Idol will be appearing on our television screens in the not-too-distant future.
