Mark Henry Believes RANDY ORTON Is Being Underused... (WWE News)
Randy Orton should be "RKO'ing people's grandmothers", according to Mark Henry.
Mark Henry reckons Randy Orton is actually being "underused" by WWE in late-2025. The former WWE and AEW man said via 'Inside The Ring' that he's not the only one - Henry believes others think Randy could be used better heading into the final few months of the year.
Personally, Mark thinks Orton should turn heel again for another badass 'Legend Killer' style run that's obviously modernised to suit everything that's happened in his career since first playing that character a few decades ago.
WWE has been teasing another top title tilt for Randy on TV lately. He recently stared at the WWE Championship during a segment with old Legacy pal Cody Rhodes, but then...that's not a first time thing. Triple H's creative team didn't really go anywhere with the sub-plot the last time they booked it, so who can say for sure whether or not Cody vs. Randy is incoming in 2025/2026?
Henry has his own thoughts on that: He "wouldn’t want Randy to be champion as good guy Randy". Instead, he'd love to see Orton "in the role that’s tailor-made for him - coming in, punting people again, RKO’ing people’s grandmothers and kids, stomping everyone. Let Randy be Randy".
Hitting his finisher on grannies and children?! Slow down, 'Sexual Chocolate'. Seriously though, it's understandable that Mark is yearning to see the vicious heel side of his old peer again. Orton's tenure with WWE has turned him into a default babyface with most fans, but that could change in a heartbeat if he does something vile enough to turn the tide.
Orton Hasn't Been World Champ For 5 Years
Randy is likely overdue another run on top with one of the top prizes.
Almost unbelievably, and despite being one of WWE's top stars since forever, Orton hasn't held a World Title in the promotion since late-2020. He defeated Drew McIntyre to become WWE Champ at Hell In A Cell that year, then dropped the belt back to his Scottish rival shortly thereafter.
Randy has been involved in the World Title scene since, but he hasn't been handed another title reign. Perhaps bosses (and maybe Orton himself) don't think he needs another run with the WWE or World Heavyweight Titles at this stage in his career. After all, Randy is an attraction to fans flocking to events whether he has a strap draped over his shoulder or not.
There isn't much the 'Apex Predator' hasn't achieved in the company since debuting way back in 2002, but it'd be interesting to find out how another World Title tilt would fare heading into the new year. Ideally, at least according to Henry, he'd do that as a heat-seeking villain.
