Former WWE man Matt Riddle says he's definitely "interested" in working with Vince McMahon again if the disgraced entrepreneur launches a new pro wrestling company in the future. Riddle told Going Ringside that he's all ears, because he's an independent contractor who doesn't knock back the chance to talk business.

When quizzed about McMahon's exit from the top power position in WWE, Riddle said "any business - especially when it’s around entertainment - [is] going to eventually run into a shakeup". That's what he'd describe Vince departing WWE as. Of course, there are seriously grim circumstances surrounding McMahon's removal by TKO Group Holdings and the wider Endeavour Group.

Former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince and several other key members of management within the company's power structure for sexual misconduct between 2019-2022 in January 2024. That led Endeavour and TKO to make a firm decision on McMahon's positioning within the organisation, and the disgraced promoter has been largely quiet (other than a few select public appearances at NFL and NBA games) ever since.

Riddle didn't go into details about any ongoing legalities during his chat with Going Ringside. Instead, he focused on the fanciful thought that McMahon could get back into the wrestling game someday. If that ever happens, then Matt would be willing to negotiate and see if he could play a role on the roster; "I think entertainment is a business for change", he added.

Rumours Of McMahon Launching A WWE Competitor Remain Rife

The rumour mill just keeps churning regarding McMahon's possible return to the wrestling fold.

There'd be significant legal ramifications and/or settlements required before that was even remotely a possibility, but various reports say Vince was only in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX so he could meet with officials from FOX. However, The Wrestling Observer soon reported that network bigwigs quickly moved to shut down any talk of them going into business with McMahon - that'd certainly be bold considering everything that's going on legally with him right now.

Mere thoughts of Vince McMahon starting a new company that acted as competition to WWE still sound outlandish. He took the group national and eventually turned it into a global juggernaut after acquiring the then-WWF from his father in 1982. The federation went public in the late-1990s before driving competition like WCW out of business in 2001.

So, Matt Riddle may be intrigued by thoughts of what a non-WWE McMahon-led promotion would look like in coming years, but there's an awful lot to get past before anything could launch.
