Mercedes Moné Is FINALLY Set For AEW Debut

No graphic drop yet, but fans were as good as told that Mercedes Moné is #AllElite.

After months of speculation about a possible arrival in All Elite Wrestling and wider speculation on her pro wrestling future, Mercedes Moné's future was at long last made certain on last night's AEW Dynamite.

Though she wasn't mentioned by name, every other element of her persona and branding was as Tony Khan's big announcement promoted a "Big Business" special edition of Dynamite for March 13th. The event will take place from the artist formerly known as Sasha Banks' billed hometown of Boston, Massachusetts at TD Garden, with the poster even presenting the location as "Bosston" as a nod to her former nickname. "Money Maker" was also used in the copy in tweets promoting the show, referencing her finisher adopted following her 2022 debut in New Japan Pro Wrestling under her new moniker.

Khan wasn't shy about hyping the show and what stands to be the debut of one of the biggest signings for either major North American promotion in sometime. He said;

"Big Business is going to be one of the most important nights in AEW and a night the entire pro wrestling industry is going to remember."

AEW has history with this sort of knowing nudge-wink promotion before, most notably with the wildly successful First Dance special edition of Rampage in 2021. The company sold out the United Center in Chicago for the return of CM Punk without once mentioning his name explicitly in the build. It did feature mutiple tacit references to him and his career on television in the weeks beforehand, so expect the same for the former multi-time WWE, NXT and IWGP Women's Champion between now and showtime.
