Mick Foley posted an impassioned message on his official Instagram page this past Tuesday stating he won't appear for WWE whilst Donald Trump remains President of the United States. This was a response to Trump's comments about the recently deceased film producer Rob Reiner, who was stabbed to death in his home.

During the rant, Foley said he's "been concerned about WWE‘s close relationship with Donald Trump for several months", but now he's decided to put his foot down. This means that Mick won't be making any cameo appearances for the company (whether they're on mainline programming or as an incidental talking head for documentaries, YouTube content etc) in the future.

Further to that, the artist formerly known as Mankind, Cactus Jack and Dude Love says he won't be putting pen to paper on an extension for his legends deal. That expires in June 2026.

Explaining, Foley added this: "I love WWE, will always treasure my time with them, and I am deeply appreciative for all the opportunities they afforded me. But, in the words of Popeye the sailor, I stands all I can stands, and I can’t stands no more".

Mick hasn't really appeared onscreen too many times in recent years, but he is someone who will always get a pop from live crowds whenever he does show up here or there. His last proper stint came back in 2017 when he was Raw GM alongside Stephanie McMahon.

Foley's post has been backed by hundreds of comments from fans commending his decision.
