MJF Gets AEW Tattoo Removed On Dynamite (AEW News)

That "Bet On Yourself" tattoo is a goner! MJF had it lasered off on AEW Dynamite.

MJF was shown having his infamous "Bet On Yourself" AEW tattoo removed on Wednesday's episode of flagship show Dynamite. Friedman looked right down the camera lens as his ink was lasered and told fans they were responsible for killing his passion for All Elite Wrestling. They forced his hand. Or, in this instance, his leg.

In a typical heel move, MJF also added that he only really cares about himself nowadays. In reality, that was always the case for his selfish character on-screen, but there was a fairly brief period when lil' Max threatened to become one of wrestling's best babyfaces. Now, that's ancient history - he's back to being one of AEW's premier bad guys.

The tattoo removal is symbolic. MJF showed it off for the first time back at Double Or Nothing 2024 in May last year. There, he rubbished the ridiculous Devil storyline that AEW had going on, then put rumours of his contractual status (and a possible jump to Triple H's WWE) to bed by flashing the "Bet On Yourself" message that framed All Elite's logo.

Some fans questioned this at the time, which might be an understatement given the attention Friedman's ink received. A fair few also questioned the legitimacy of the tatt and wondered if it was a fake. It sure seemed bold that someone who's been so open about someday wrestling elsewhere would get Tony Khan's company tattooed on his body, put it that way.

That tattoo is now gone ahead of MJF's next big AEW pay-per-view showdown.

MJF Collides with Hangman Page At AEW Revolution 2025

Onscreen, MJF is rather upset that AEW's fanbase has sided with Hangman Page over him.

The pair will collide at Revolution 2025 on 9 March in Los Angeles. On TV, Friedman and Page have worked several heated face to face promo exchanges, so this past Wednesday's storyline push felt a bit different. It isn't every day fans get to see any wrestler literally having a tattoo lasered off on television!

Tony Khan must be hoping that MJF vs. Page lives up to the hype and complements other top matches slated for the show. Cope challenges Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title, 'Timeless' Toni Storm vs. Mariah May is on tap again, and Konosuke Takeshita defends his AEW International Title vs. Kenny Omega in what should be an in-ring scorcher.

One thing's known: MJF will walk into Revolution without the AEW tattoo that commemorated his decision to re-sign with the promotion last year. "Bet On Yourself" is gone, and it's onto the next chapter for one of wrestling's best loudmouths.
