Davey Richards is heading to Major League Wrestling.

The news was confirmed as part of the company's ongoing Open Draft that began on Thursday, 20 May. As of writing, 'The Lone Wolf' is the only new signing confirmed for MLW, with Gino Medina, Ross and Marshall Von Erich, and King Muertes (the former Mil Muertes of Lucha Underground fame) also being confirmed as returning names.

This comes after Richards revealed he would be returning to professional wrestling this year, having been presumed retired since July 2017. He last wrestled on 8 July of that year, losing both the DEFY Wrestling and Combat Zone Wrestling World Heavyweight Championships to Shane Strickland - now NXT's Isaiah 'Swerve' Scott - in a bout also included Joe Gacy and Lio Rush.

A former World Champion in Ring Of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Richards is currently scheduled to return to in-ring competition at tomorrow night's (22 May) Catalyst event for Global Syndicate Wrestling, although his opponent is yet to be announced.

With regards to his MLW commitments, the former IMPACT Wrestling star will debut for them on Thursday, 10 July at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
