#MondayMotivation: 7 Things To Look Forward To This Week In Wrestling (July 17)
2. Punjabi Prison
Though a divisive structure, The Punjabi Prison has at least added some much-needed intrigue to what was sure to be another painfully boring WWE Title match between Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton.
Mahal desperately needs separation from 'The Viper', with Orton's glacial style not suited to elevating Jinder's similarly dry style. The bamboo double-cage, as demented as it was/is, has become the most interesting character in the match. Or second most interesting, if The Great Khali was to make an unexpected return as a henchman for his storyline brother-in-law.
Mahal showered praise on 'The Punjabi Playboy' in noting the silly structure's origin story, but was careful enough not to note that he only took part in one of only two incarnations of the match. That said, the Khali/Batista brawl at October 2007's No Mercy pay-per-view was far from useless, and even featured a spectacularly athletic finish following the dramatic locking of all four internal doors.
Perhaps most importantly, this will at least be a true headline attraction for Battleground. The Orton/Mahal programme has struggled to boast such prestige, and in yet another comparison between 'The Maharaja' and John Bradshaw Layfield, hasn't really 'felt' like a main event. Victory inside the beige asylum may finally accelerate his trajectory ahead of whichever opponent earns a SummerSlam shot.
