Money In The Bank 2020 Was WWE's Shortest PPV In 14 Years

A historic night in more ways than one.

WWE Money In The Bank 2020 was a refreshingly short pay-per-view for a company prone to extending its biggest shows far beyond the four-hour mark, coming in at just 2 hours and 24 minutes for the main card.

While MITB 2020 also came with a one-hour Kickoff Show, comparing the main runtime to other shorter modern pay-per-views yields interesting results. 2018's shortest supercard, Fastlane, run for 2 hours and 42 minutes, while 2017's Fastlane was a minute shorter than that. Delving further back into the past, No Mercy 2016 was 2 hours 36 minutes and Judgment Day 2007 2 hours and 35 minutes.

Taken in the truest sense of what a "WWE pay-per-view" is, Money In The Bank 2020 was the company's shortest since ECW December to Dismember 2006, which was 10 minutes shorter. Those who don't want to count WWECW in the same category can go back even further to Insurrextion 2002 which came in at 2 hours and 23 minutes.

The brevity was as wise a choice as going wacky and cinematic for the titular main event. Empty arenas don't lend themselves to marathon wrestling shows, so props to WWE for trimming things down.
