More Intergender Angles Coming To WWE After Orton Vs. Phoenix?

The fallout from the RKO heard around the world.

Beth Phoenix returned to WWE for this week's Raw, starring in an extremely effective main event angle with Randy Orton, who has been feuding with her husband Edge.

'The Glamazon' was in the house to provide a medical update on her other half. Orton got involved and their face-to-face was heavy and emotional, with Randy blaming Beth for Edge's current state. Beth slapped 'The Viper,' who struck back, downing Phoenix with an RKO.

A shocking moment, but fans shouldn't expect it to lead to WWE travelling down the intergender road more often.

This is according to a new report from WrestlingNews.co. Paul Davis writes that he was "told that the attack on Phoenix is not a sign that we will see more men attacking women on WWE TV," and that if it does go down again, "it will be saved for big angles such as this one." Beth is also set to get her revenge on Orton at some point in the storyline.

Recent years have seen WWE edge closed and closer to the intergender line with incidents like this, Nia Jax's men's Royal Rumble appearance, and Baron Corbin giving Becky Lynch the End of Days.
