More On WWE Reaching Out To Numerous Top AEW Talents
Who else did WWE reportedly reach out to within AEW recently?
It turns out that Malakai Black wasn't the only AEW talent WWE reportedly reached out to recently about a potential return to the Sports Entertainment giant.
Hot on the heels of it being made known by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that the conditionally released House of Black leader "wanted to go back to WWE" and it also being revealed in the Observer that a number of other AEW talents similarly requested their release around this time, Fightful are now reporting that none other than Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler were among those WWE reached out to recently.
According to Fightful, “feelers were sent out” to the IWGP, AAA & ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR, with WWE also being said to have attempted to re-sign the twosome whilst Vince McMahon was still in charge of the company. On top of this, it's also “widely known” that Swerve Strickland was someone WWE had reached out to as well.
An unnamed AEW Original was also said to have been contacted by the biggest wrestling promotion on the planet, with Fightful's source claiming that said name would come as surprise to many.
This development comes after last month's notable story of AEW emailing WWE's co-CEOs Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan warning them "not to tamper" with stars contracted to Tony Khan's company.
