Amidst plentiful speculation over her current status, last night's Raw saw WWE's Naomi announce that she's pregnant.

Prior to last week's Raw, Naomi was pulled from her scheduled Women's World Championship match against Iyo Sky due to not being medically cleared. In the days since, speculation ran rampant on what was going on with the former Funkadactyl, with the likes of f4wonline's Bryan Alvarez noting that, if what he's heard is true, Naomi was set to be out of action for a long time. And now, we know that Naomi and her husband Jimmy Uso are expecting a baby.

With Naomi in the ring with Raw GM Adam Pearce last night, the segment cut to previously-unaired footage from Naomi and Jimmy's recent appearance on Stephanie McMahon's What's Your Story? podcast, where it was Jimmy Uso making the announcement that they're pregnant. Raw then cut back to the ring, where an emotional Naomi was congratulated by Pearce and the Philadelphia crowd, before she quickly snapped back into her erratic heel persona.

Speaking very much in-character, Naomi told Adam Pearce she "ain't handing you s**t" when it came to vacating the Women's World Championship, then told Pearce to get out of her face. Naomi told the women's locker room that they should be thankful for Big Jim - noting how the Bloodline continues - as otherwise she'd have spent the next year putting those "heffers" in the ground.

Naomi did eventually relinquish her Women's World Title, laying it down in the centre of the ring, adding that she'll be back in "nine months and some change", and that she'll be coming for that belt, even if she has to come back with her baby breastfeeding in her arms. The segment wrapped up with Naomi warning whoever has that title when she comes back to proceed with caution.

As of now, there's no word on how WWE plans to crown a new Women's World Champion, although Stephanie Vaquer was due to challenge Naomi for that prize at Clash in Paris on 31 August.

A new bonus episode of Naomi and Jimmy Uso on What's Your Story has now been released, where the two discuss their previous struggles of getting pregnant.

Naomi revealed that she found out in her hotel room on Sunday, 10 August, the day before that scheduled Iyo Sky match. She explained how she'd been feeling "a little different, a little weird" and took a pregnancy test just to rule that out. Naomi went into detail about how she didn't think pregnancy was possible, as she revealed she underwent an oophorectomy - the removal of her right ovary - before she even debuted on the main roster, and then had a procedure to remove fibroids from her uterus in 2020. On that latter surgery, Jimmy said how it was supposed to be a couple of hours, but Naomi ended up being under the knife for six hours in the end, with her needing to take six months to recover from that.

The mixture of those surgeries and Naomi's age - 37 - meant that she had largely ruled out ever being able to get pregnant, which made it all the more special when she found out that she was. The now-former Women's World Champion said that she's viewed as a high-risk pregnancy, but everything is going well so far, confirming that she's now seven weeks pregnant and has heard the baby's heartbeat.

From all of us here at WhatCulture Wrestling, best wishes and congratulations to Naomi and Jimmy on this news.
