Following up on yesterday's news that Triple H wasn't present at WWE's Raw and NXT tapings this week, Dave Meltzer has provided an update in the new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

While WWE is keeping Triple H's absence secretive, Meltzer confirmed that the NXT chief was quarantining, hence his absence. There is currently no indication that he is suffering from COVID-19 after a new outbreak of the virus currently sweeping the globe hit NXT last week.

With Triple H away from the Capitol Wrestling Center, Shawn Michaels and Brian 'Road Dogg' James ran this week's NXT show. Whether or not Triple H returns for Fastlane 2021 this weekend remains to be seen.

Hunter would typically be present at every set of NXT tapings, pulling the strings for the brand he helped found.

Though no official announcement has been made yet, NXT is expected to move to Tuesday nights after WrestleMania 37 next month, ending the Wednesday Night Wars. The situation is dependent on television rights fee negotiations between NBCUniversal and the NHL, though the latest reporting on the matter states WWE is already making internal preparations for the switch.
