Vince McMahon is not actively attempting to sell WWE.

This is the word of Nick Khan, the company's President and Chief Revenue Officer, who was interviewed by Ariel Helwani for WWE's UK television partner, BT Sport, over the weekend.

When asked about talk that the promotion is looking to sell (and whether or not the glut of wrestlers and other employees released in 2020 and 2021 was the groundwork for such a move), Khan answered as follows (h/t Figure Four Online for the transcriptions):-

"People call all the time about all different things, but we're not in any active conversations about any of that. We're not trying to sell, that's not our intent, there are no internal meetings about the company. The internal meetings are about growing it."

Khan had previously told Recode Media's Peter Kafka that WWE was "open for business," which turned into speculation on a sale. Despite this, McMahon and co. aren't in active talks to sell the promotion.

In his first major media appearance as WWE President and CRO (a position he has held since August 2020), Khan told Colin Cowherd that McMahon has never sold WWE because he built it into what it is today, remains the best person to run it, and wouldn't have anything else to do with his time. This was back in April.
