NJPW G1 Climax 2018, Week 2: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

11. Minoru Suzuki Vs. Jay White (22 July)

Hangman Page Kazuchika Okada
NJPW

Rating: ***3/4

'Switchblade' Jay White thoroughly deserved the manner in which he was cut down to size by a ruthless Minoru Suzuki.

White had relentlessly cheated his way to six ill-gotten points before coming at 'The King', and had even had the gall to refer to Suzuki as an "old f*ck" in a fiery promo the night before. His confidence was his undoing - Suzuki psychopathically flitted between flashing smiles and growls at the upstart before revealing an immunity to the dirty tricks White had employed in the tournament up to this point.

Catching White's low blow-throwing fist with his knees was a luxurious poach from Suzuki-Gun student Zack Sabre Jr, reminding the egg-sucking 'Switchblade' that he needed no lessons in such chicanery.
