NJPW G1 Climax 2018, Week 2: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

10. Michael Elgin Vs. Jay White (20 July)

Hangman Page Kazuchika Okada
NJPW

Rating: ****

Up until the point he got what was coming to him from Minoru Suzuki, Jay White's G1 Climax had been one of high level sh*thouse risk for highest level sh*house reward. Victories over Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi were as massive as they sound, regardless of the respective emotional and physical limitations of both at present.

That he'd got by both with low blows and chairshots only strengthened his resolve - White continued to gloat, boast and preen in the face of his detractors, and did so yet again to undercut an in-form Michael Elgin. Confidently battering White as the contest neared conclusion, 'Big Mike' had things in hand until Jay again took the lowest road.
