NJPW G1 Climax 2018, Week 2: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

18. EVIL Vs. Togi Makabe (20 July)

Hangman Page Kazuchika Okada
NJPW

Rating: **1/2

A bland effort from both with a rest clearly welcome, Togi Makabe and EVIL's moribund midcard clash wasn't without worthy work but lacked the urgency of other contests around it.

Makabe's first loss was EVIL's second win, with the LIJ star rocketing to the top of Block A days later thanks to the aforementioned victory over Bad Luck Fale. This particular contest could have been something of a showpiece to justify the plum spot he currently assumes, but it seems likely he'll slip from the pedestal with tougher challenges up ahead.
