Rating: **¼

While it'd be a stretch to call Hangman Page a tournament MVP, he has had a strong G1 Climax, bolstering his reputation with several high-effort clashes against some of the best wrestlers in the company. His new Ecstasy Of Gold-esque entrance theme is outstanding, too.

Unfortunately, it's hard to pull anything out of a 45-year-old Togi Makabe this deep into a 19-day tournament. Ravaged by age, G1 fatigue, and his own low workrate, the 'Unchained Gorilla' was pedestrian, and so was this match. Though far from terrible, it was comfortably one of the most skippable of the G1 so far.
