Similarly to others, Suzuki is the current Openweight champion and since this belt is the major singles title in NJPW right now (since Naito holds the IC and Moxley's stuck in America with AEW commitments), that seems to ensure that he will not be challenging Naito at the Tokyo Dome.

However, his status as a veteran and his history with Naito as a wrestler means that the possibility isn't out of the question. He recently defeated one of Naito’s stablemates Shingo Takagi for the Openweight title and could easily target other members of the LIJ stable leading to his match with Naito at the Tokyo Dome.

He does have the aura where winning a G1 wouldn't come out of nowhere, he has main evented at the Tokyo Dome before with Hiroshi Tanahashi, and he’s had an incredible feud with Yuji Nagata to build him up for this position. In addition, a Suzuki-gun/LIJ feud could be a feasible major storyline going into Wrestle Kingdom as the two outsider stables have natural conflict with each other.

It would make sense in a lot of ways but is very unlikely considering Suzuki’s age and current championship status. If it does happen though, it'll be euphoric.
