NJPW G1 Climax 30: Every Participant's Chance Of Winning Ranked From Worst To Best
12. KENTA
KENTA is maybe the most despised heel in New Japan Pro Wrestling after his assault on Katsuyori Shibata last year, subsequent run with the Openweight championship and the attack on Tetsuya Naito after his Wrestle Kingdom victory.
Sadly, the pandemic has kept KENTA in America and unable to fully capitalise on his despicable behaviour following his loss to Naito, but he has recently won a championship match with Jon Moxley which seems to be his focus going forward. In addition, there is the potential conflict over who should lead the Bullet Club into the future with new member EVIL, which could be the narrative focus going forward for his character.
His history with Naito cannot be discounted; he attacked the IWGP Heavyweight Champion after his victory and is now trying to take his titles in the same ring he attacked him. But the two have a match together in B Block and are likely to resolve their conflict for the near future there or in another title match before Wrestle Kingdom.
He had a better chance to win last year's than he does now, but he seems destined to take a G1 victory to a series of boos at some point in his future.
