Putting the Ace himself Hiroshi Tanahashi this low seems almost sacrilegious but his chances seem low from a distance. His most likely outcome for success in the G1 this year is making it to the finals with his tag team partner Kota Ibushi where they can have a rematch of their 2018 final with a new context, but it's unlikely that Tana will be able to pull off a victory against his partner, or even make it to the finals in any other circumstance right now.

He's spent almost the entire year in the tag team division and his recent angle with Ibushi is that he is letting the pairing down, being emotional about the fact that his body's degradation means he can't live up to the icon that his younger partner views him as. That could lead to an emotional finals but it's unlikely to lead to a title shot at the Tokyo Dome, considering his redemption/one last ride arc for the G1 already happened in 2018.

However, he is Hiroshi Tanahashi, the Ace himself, and is one of those participants that pretty much always has a chance of winning due to his status in the company, even if the odds aren't really in his favour.
