NJPW G1 Climax 30: Every Participant's Chance Of Winning Ranked From Worst To Best
7. EVIL
The most recent first time IWGP Heavyweight champion, the former LIJ member EVIL has been doing wonders since turning heel, crafting one of the most emotional narratives of the year with mentor Tetsuya Naito during his brief but memorable title reign.
EVIL has impressed in G1 events before 2020, and his status as a former world champion now means that he'll do well in the bracket, especially with the "Spoiler" Dick Togo by his side providing interference. Being placed in the same bracket as Naito means that there is huge tension and uncertainty over who will be the victor in their contest, especially considering that EVIL lost his title back to Naito.
EVIL and Naito's recent feud means EVIL cannot be underestimated as a potential winner, but unfortunately for him, the fireworks celebration after Naito reclaimed his title at Summer Struggle suggests that their long term feud will be placed on hold for now and another challenger will rise up. This is amplified by the fact he's facing former tag partner SANADA on the final day of B Block, a result that will likely affect the finals of the tournament.
Still, he's been pushed very hard this year - there's always a chance that he'll take his first G1.
