NJPW G1 Climax 30: Every Participant's Chance Of Winning Ranked From Worst To Best

6. Jay White

Jay White
NJPW

Jay White has a natural angle with Tetsuya Naito, as White cost him last year's G1 and his Intercontinental title going into Wrestle Kingdom 14, before Naito defeated White on the first night of that event. In addition, White is a former IWGP Heavyweight Champion and made it to the G1 finals last year, proving himself as a formidable upper midcard/main event heel.

It wouldn't be shocking if he pulled out a victory here. However, with Bullet Club adding EVIL as a new leading figure and KENTA dominating NJPW Strong, it seems unclear where White fits into the fabric of the group right now, potentially leading to a split from the faction. His months of absence from NJPW has softened his despicable aura and it feels like Gedo might prioritise a conflict within Bullet Club this year rather than giving the Switchblade the victory.

However, he is beloved by the bookers and has been built up as a major draw over the last couple of years, so a G1 victory could be used to make his return to Japan devastatingly effective. It's not the most likely this year but it's impossible to rule out.
