NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 10 - Everything You Need To Know

9. reDRagon (c) Vs. Matt Sydal & Richochet Vs. Roppongi Vice Vs. The Young Bucks

For the third straight year, the show will open with a four way match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles. The talent on show in the match is remarkable, with eight of the finest junior wrestlers in the world. The match will be fast paced, full of excitement and inventive spots. All four of the teams are potential winners. In short, it'll be everything a show opening match should be. So why the genuine lack of excitement from New Japan fans? Well, the Junior Tag scene is stale, to say the least. When Ricochet and Matt Sydal (formerly Evan Bourne) arrived on the scene in the fall of 2015, there was a glimmer of hope that we would get a straight two-on-two match at the Dome. Alas no, as Rocky Romero and Trent (Roppongi Vice) were added to the match along with The Young Bucks. The Bucks and Rocky Romero have featured in the show opening four ways over the last three years, and five of the eight competitors from the 2015 version return this year. Who will come out on top? Well, you can throw a dart at a picture and guess to be honest, so let's go with the Bucks ahead of the continued ROH/NJPW partnership.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
