NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 13: Every Match Ranked By Level Of Hype
7. GOD Vs. The Young Bucks Vs. EVIL & SANADA
Like the other tag title triple threat at this show, the Heavyweight match doesn't have that great a build into it. After defeating the champions Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa at the 2018 World Tag League Final, SANADA & EVIL earned the right to challenge for the titles at Wrestle Kingdom. However, the Young Bucks, the former champions, arrived on the scene after the match and invoked their rematch clause, sparking this triple threat.
However, unlike the Jr triple threat, this matchup will at least have the benefit of being one fans have not seen, let alone two months ago. And all three combinations of teams are proven to have chemistry, with the Young Bucks and LIJ having two of the best tag team matches of the year last summer.
Of course, like with Cody and Kenny's matches, the real intrigue surrounding the Bucks has to do with the recent announcement of All Elite Wrestling. Obviously, this upstart promotion will try their damnedest to make a working arrangement with New Japan, but the question remains: will this Wrestle Kingdom mark the beginning of a hiatus of the Bucks from the company, or will Gedo swerve us and have the Jackson brothers win the titles?
