Nobody Will Do It For You: The Rise And Fall Of #DIY

1. Fight Forever

Their feud seemingly reignited, Johnny came down to the ring after Ciampa had a match against Austin Theory and attacked him, beating his former partner down while the crowd alternated chants between "Daddy's home" and "Johnny's home", all while wearing the new #DIY symbol that had been designed for their match against Moustache Mountain.

Later, during a tense interview with Mauro Ranallo, during which Johnny was barely containing himself, Mauro asked about the sneak attacks.

"You think that was a sneak attack? I was wearing a powder-blue sports coat."

Angry that Mauro had called him Johnny Turncoat on air after his attack on Ciampa, Johnny turned on Mauro when he said it was just in the moment.

"Everything's about moments these days, huh? What about my moment? You think you know me? You know nothing about me. You know when Tommaso Ciampa comes back, you can't help but say 'Daddy's Home'."

After a clearly uncomfortable Mauro was chased off, Gargano turned to the camera and told the audience he'd face Ciampa where it all began, at the Performance Centre.

The next week, as Ciampa stood in the ring, Gargano appeared on the screens and began talking.

"It seems like everyone forgets the past three years. I didn't forget. I didn't forget what you did to me, what you did to them, what you did to NXT. Tommaso Ciampa is the worst person in NXT history. You're gone for six months, you come back and, all of a sudden, all is forgiven. Everyone loves Tommaso Ciampa now, right? Everyone chants 'Daddy's Home'. Did I miss an apology? Why is this man redeemed? I feel like I'm losing my mind."

He had a point and, as with so much of their story, it fits in naturally with what has come before it. Johnny, feeling betrayed by the crowds and commentators alike who'd instantly gotten behind his nemesis when he returned didn't get a chance to explain any further. He was cut off by Ciampa arriving in the conference room that he'd been speaking from, and the two battled each other through the PC, destroying much of it in their attempts to destroy each other.

As the war between these two men continues to cries of "Fight forever!" it's hard to think that both of them, who can now command the top of any card they're on, were once judged as not being WWE material.

Now, they're lynchpins of the NXT roster and, to paraphrase their old tag team motto, nobody did it for them.
