NWO, WCW And When Too Suhweet Became Sour

When Does it End?

wcw Stables have a nasty habit of just flopping out with no huge payoff because there is a lot more trouble given to construction of the stables than its eventual disintegration. Far too many times a stable that starts out like a house on fire ends up just being messy and tired by the time of its departure. The alternative was a white knight coming a destroying the stable all by their lonesome- thereby burying the stars of the stable, such as John Cena taking out the Nexus. The nWo could be filed under the messy category, with the creative team at WCW not willing to kill what they saw as the golden goose, despite the fact that their act was not getting any fresher. When the nWo got really bloated, WCW decided to split it between nWo Hollywood and nWo Wolfpac- which not made no sense as the nWo was already feuding with WCW, it increasingly marginalised the WCW as nWo stories continued to dominate the program. Then, when they should have been looking forward with new storylines and ideas, they coined the idea of an nWo 2000 with many different members- not realising that by doing so they made it almost impossible not to compare it to the amazing group that had taken the world by storm a couple of years ago. Ironically, the nWo which once was seen as railing against the nostalgia of WCW was now being used as an a nostalgia act to drum up business. So what could the nWo have done differently to make their legacy more of a untarnished one.
